Senior Support Worker (Children’s Residential Home)

Location: Ascot, Berkshire
Salary: £36,660 per annum + £60 per sleep-in (average 1 per week)
Hours: Full-time, rota-based (including weekends, evenings, and sleep-ins)
Service: Brand-new, purpose-built children’s residential home – Greenacres

Greenacres Children’s Home is a newly registered, purpose-built therapeutic home preparing to welcome its first residents. Part of a forward-thinking care group, we are seeking experienced and motivated Senior Support Workers to join our founding team.

About the Home

Greenacres provides a spacious, calm, and nurturing environment for up to six children aged 8–18 with complex needs, including emotional and behavioural difficulties, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.

Your Role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital leadership role, supporting the Registered Manager in delivering exceptional care and guiding the team to achieve excellence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading shifts and ensuring safe, high-quality care
  • Acting as a positive role model, supporting children through daily routines and emotional challenges
  • Providing guidance and supervision to support staff
  • Contributing to care planning and reviews
  • Promoting independence, resilience, and emotional regulation
  • Upholding safeguarding, record-keeping, and compliance standards

About You

You are a confident, compassionate professional with strong communication and leadership skills. You bring warmth, patience, and emotional intelligence to everything you do.

Essential experience and qualities:

  • Experience supporting children with complex needs in a residential setting
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Children and Young People’s Workforce – or a willingness to complete this
  • A calm, reflective, therapeutic approach to behaviour support
  • Commitment to promoting equality, inclusion, and child-centred practice
